Movies tonight.
More than one in one night (ups, that sounded like a sex story).I went with Donneves to the movies to see The Number 23, and then to his house to see Spiderman. This way I only have one more togo and I'll be ready to "enjoy" Spiderman 3 on the theatre... that is what I was told.
Yes, yes, I know, I know. What is the point of staying home though when you can go out with other nice people.
So The number 23 was a good one. I enjoyed it a lot, but I like thrillers. I loved the ending. I wouldn't just recomend it though, cos you gotta be into the the whole thriller/horror scene. I am!. Somehow and I don;t know why, it reminded me of The Secret Window, but don't take my word on that.
Stupid Jim Carrey can make a good job from time to time. Makes me think maybe I shoud give him another chance... nah! Anyway, maybe they did curse him with the same kind of role for a while. He pulled this out pretty well, and I liked The Truman Show too....
All and all... it was a good day. Got some reading done. Got the news about my PhD. Got emails from one of my bosses and also from my advisor congratulating me and saying how much they are thrilled to have me working for them dur to my skills. I'm loving this irish guy! I'm taking one of his classes next semester for sure.
By the way, did I mention that I'll be taking probably just 2? I wanna get used to my new job. I wanna have time to be a real part of it, and I want to slow down just for one semester.
When I think about all this... I forget about the rest, and this is a good good thing in my life. I am thrilled. posted by Paula at 5:00 AM

Conversations with my friends.
First, as always, Daniel.I like "raritos", which means, little freaks.
And Daniel just told me, if you like freaks, you better put up with it and accept it.
And I said to him that I consider him just as weird, that he shouldn't look down on them.
And he said: I know I am a little freak!
He said one more important thing though: "Y bueno, hay raros que encaran. No achiques" (Well, there are freaks that take the bull by the horns. Don't give up)
*Smile*
Second, Luis. Gotta love my smart uruguayan friends.
Me: He says he knows himself.
Luis: good someone knows him. Too bad it had to be himself, cos when he dies, all that knowledge will go to waste posted by Paula at 12:30 AM

I'm guessing that was it.
I don't really have a ton of things to say about it.I had fun. Maybe he'd be remember like Daniel is.... Nah! :-P
Not only too many differences, and some of them basic, like politics, but I guess there also were all those issues he has. I think we'll still be around, but... just not like it has been... if we can control :-P
Now Daniel... He has showed up again. He always does when I need him je je. God, after all these years... is it legal to keep feeling a thrill? posted by Paula at 5:36 PM

The cat.
I was studying, and I should have not stopped, but I remembered this, and thought it was funny and worth writing... since I haven't written much lately.
Sean has 2 female cats. One of them lives outside (how it should be if you ask me), and the other one... well, the other one sleeps with him\us. It's a back old cat called Smoker, and she is sooo soo soo jealous of me, it's funny. I think the creature hates me!
She just doesn't want to sleep in bed, she wants to sleep in between us. And of course I don't let her! So she tryes to get in, and I pushed her out. Go sleep on one side! If you want to, go sleep on Sean's side. I am not asking you to sleep next to me.
So most of the times after trying to get in the middle, she finally leaves. Then later she'll try again, and sometimes I'd wake up and she'll be there... not for long though!
But this morning... this morning it was funny.
She was kinda in the middle, but in our feet, so it didn't bother me. I got up and went to the bathroom, and she got up too, and went to the far end of the bed, on the feet. Far away from Sean, and even me if I was there too. So she was there, and I was in the bathroom. Then I am coming back, and she is kinda ignoring me while I drink some water. So I strt going aroudn the bed to get inside again and then.... She got up and ran next to Sean taking my place! ajajajajajaj It was su funny see how smart and jealous she is! She saw me coming back, and probably said to herself "that bitch is not sleeping next to my man", and that said with back ppl accent, cos after all, she is all back.
Yeah, of course I moved her away :-P
I love cats though, specially if they are all black. But this one... she just doens't like me, and I think it's funny now, cos I think she will have to get use to there is another woman there now! :-P

And to end this pic that I took last night. We went to see Hannibal Rising. I really liked it a lot, and it made a lot of sense to me since I had already seen 2 of the other 3 movies. I would really recomend it. I thought the story was cool, and even whem maybe there was a part or tw that I will make more... .dyamic, I would say it was well told. I think Juan is going to enjoy it a lot. Then we went for a couple of drinks, and for the first time in my life I really had a beer. It was a peach beer though, and it's not like I am a fan now, but this was certainly the best beer I have ever even smelled :-P
And then I took this pic :-)

And the Superbowl brought Prince.
And of course that was the most enjoyable part of the whole thing.I did enjoy the fact I got to meet some of Sean's friends, but maybe what I should not write about and I can't resist at the same time, it's the fact that for the first time I had sex under the stars. Not that I have not being seeing them lately at those paticular time, but being outside it was one of those many crazy fantasies that I had. It seemed it should have been so difficutl to be complete, and today it doens't matter, cos we did it, and it was great.
So the superbowl brought also some kinky sex outside, and I know no matter what happens next, I will always remember yesterday.
I'm guessing I should not just write a whole entry on sth like sex since it kinda reflects bad on me... but hey, maybe I am bad... a bad kitty as Sean says :-P So I will be finishing here, cos I also have to study.
Hope your superbowl was as good as mine. posted by Paula at 6:44 PM

I never really liked Nicolini, but..
.. maybe this time people is being unfair with him.So it was his son who signed the papers when he was having surgery already. He made reported it when he could, and he started paying for that intervention. And of course now the opositon, blancos and colorados that stole so much from us, they are like amazed and making a big deal out of t. Like my mom said: they didn't get surgery for free at our public health system, no, they didn't. What they did was just take the public money and get those interention in other countries, way more expensive, and then it was us, the uruguayan people that payed for it.
Now Nicolini, again, he reported it and started paying it before the media even started to make a big deal, or even the oposition.
This is what Mujica had to say, and I agree.
Translation (it's so good to be billingual.... with misspellings and all)
"This things happen everyday, they have always happened, they happen now and they will continue happening, because looking further than our programs and our ideas, men have limitations, and also the procedures are kinda complicated and very tricky", said Mujica yesterday. In the interview with Channel 10, the State secretary said that "we are in a system where we give defects too m uch of our attention and importance, even more if they are from someone else, not ours. It happened to us, the individuals, and to you, those who work in press". He added that "imposible is always a little bit more of work, and improve human condition is a huge task". (...) "Men and women are great judges, inflexible when we have to judge others, but how week we are when it comes to ourselves. I was never a judge and I am never going to be a judge, I am a fighter and there are moments that I realize that I need to act in determined way. it's not pretty"
I hope the translation is good enough, it not, go and learn spanish, or do you think I work for you?! :-P posted by Paula at 5:27 PM

Finally in my bed in my new room.
So today Sean helped me bring the bed home. Marianela gave it to me and 2 desks. I probably mentioned it before. So Sean asked a friend for a truck, and we did it. But we didn't do it all right...We put in the truck the 3 pieces of furniture that is my bed right now, plus desk. He secured them, but when we were driving down the interstate, the desk flew away. It is a funny memory now, but we could have killed someone. Luckily there was no car close behind us, so I guess everybody was able to pass through skiping the desk in the middle of the road. And of course, now I don't have a desk here. I still need to pick up the other one, and he said that now he owes me anyway, so I might still end up with 2.
Why I want 2? Because I want one for my computer, and I want one to sit and read. I am farther away from campus now, so no crazy visit to the library now lke I did in the past. I have a nice room, and I should be able to concentrate here and read\study. But I do need a separate desk, cos the computer takes all the space all the time, and I think the father away I sit from it when I study, the better.
So I am tired now... .very tired.
Tomorrow is the Superbowl party. I am only looking forward to see Prince peform. I know whatever he does will be spectacular. I am also kinda happy that I will be meetin a whole bunch of Sean's friends all together.

Bye Tempe, hi Mesa.
So I am moved! I am sitting in my great big room, lookig how empty it still is, and happy to know tht I live in a gorgeous place! The day went pretty well today despite the fact I didn't see Sean :-P
Went to work and ended up doing half of what they wanted me to, cos there was no way to complete it, and this time, it was not my fault :-P Katie got Mario to go pick me up at home and help me with materials, and then she brought me back to campus.
There I had time to read and write what I needed. I met Dama, we went for lunch, and then she helped me move what was left. A boring class was next, and then a gret dinner with Katie, Dama and Sean M.
Sean (the young one that used to work with me) is leaving for Chile on Sunday. He'll be there for 6 months. It's not the first time he does it, and I can tell his trips have given him a much better perspective of life and people. Another nice thing about this particular trip of his, it's that he'll be there when I am there. He said he'll be going to Uruguay too, and my plan is to take him to Brasil. He loved the plan, and I always wanted a good excuse to go there. Not to mention I have a whole bunch of friends there now that are actually waiting for me to go. If this happen.... if we mke it happen... it's gonna be aaaaaawwwwsomeeeeee!!!!
I got a cute cute cute phone call from Sean.... the other one, of course. I feel I might not have to tell stupid and small stuff like that here about him, but you know what? I just feel like mentioning him. Tomorrow I'll just stay there so I can't wait.
But tomorrow will also be a much more bsy day. I have 2 intervies in the morning, but at least Sarah (my new roomate) is taking me there, so I don't really have to get up so early. I guess the bussiest the fastes it will pass. And the fastest it pass, the fastest we go party with Sean, Katie and some other people tomorrow.
You go and sleep well, I certainly will do. posted by Paula at 3:56 AM

"It can only get better" or "Starting the day with Sean was the only good thing about today"...
... as I told him later this afternoong, when he was helping me move.Anyway, here I go. I will complain cos I fel frustrated, but I gotta admit that right now I do realize that my life is pretty much awesome these days, and I have no right to whine.
About the starting of the day... Nice, as you can imagine. I got a whole body massage last night as I never had one, and it really made me feel so relaxed and brand new, like the song says (and yes, in my head I'm playing the Simply Red verssion). I got home on time, and everything was nice. Got things ready for my first interview with my new job, and I even noticed today I dind't have to carry that many things, so that was nice on my back. Of course it was kinda dark... I ment the sky, but knowing AZ.. it was gonna get lighter and warmer along the hours passed, so I didn't even bring a jacket with me.
Take the first bus and arrive to the second bus stop on perfect time. i was even gonna have time to arrange things there ith all the time in the world. But of course not! ho do you think I am? A lucky person? (which I am, but I wanna be dramatic here). I waited for that second bus for about an hour!!!!!!!! And god damn it got cold cold cold.
I made it to school right on time, which ment not so much time for arranging the camera and all the stuff. But oh well, the interview went well. Nothing marvellous, but it was the first one, and the poor girl was complete lost. It was nice to talk to her in spanish and be a teacher again. Of course it's a little hard sometimes to be there to ask and lead without tring to teach. Here it doesn't matter if they arrive to the right answer, and it seems pretty weird to say "alright, go ahead to the next" knowing they don't really know what to do or what they did on the first one.
Then the interview was over. I go out... It's freaking raining cats and dogs! When it rains it pours they say, and this time they were right! And it was freezing. Me with no jacket, with a camera that could not get wet, and a million things to do in the afternoon. with hope to be able to do them anyway, but noticing I was gonna gete pretty drenched too.
I stayed at school for about 45 min waiting for it to stop. it didn't, but it was not as bad as it was at first. So i walk to the bus stop, getting wet and getting froze too. I wait there not so long, and I tell myself maybe it is now that the day gets better.
Well.... no, of course not! The bus didn't go all the way, so in the middle of nowhere I have to get off and go to another bus stop with no roof while it's raining. 3 buses that didn't go all the way passed me by when finally the one I needed came. More waiting to take my third bus of the day.
All and all.... To get from Phoenix to Tempe, a trip that should be30 min, took me from 13:00 to 16:00. There is no God, and this confirms it!
I get to school and I have to talk to my old boss. I am determined that if she bitches at me as she did on the phone the other day, I would use that as the perfect excuse not to help here till Friday. But no, she is all nice, with a sad face, even asking me what it's best and bla bla bla. So i have to stay there getting ready the last 2 classes I'll be teaching for her. Damn it! I can't even count on ppl to get mad at me!
By the time i get home, it's too late to go to this other city where i have to pick up my new bed. I have no truck either, so I am screrwed. No moving. I have no idea when I'll be able to make it, and I have to be out of here by tomorrow anyway, so I will have to think of sth or sleep on the floor.
And then, cos life is never totally bad, Sean came to help me out again with some boxes. I took all my clothes there but sth to wear tomorrow. He made me laugh. So I guess there were only 2 good things about this day, and they were.. the same one after all.
But tomorrow will be much better. I don't really think it can't be worse I think. And if it is just as bad... i guess I am ready so.... bring it on! posted by Paula at 1:21 AM
